501st Legion | MidSouth Garrison

(From the 501st Facebook post, 4/12/2015)
On the 9th of April, 2015, Janice Decker (ID-5259 of the ‪#‎501st‬ MidSouth Garrison) passed away after a brief but fierce battle with leukemia. As a respected member of the Mos Nooga Squad, Janie was considered the group’s grandma. Always happy and full of life, Janie’s vibrant smile and joyful demeanor allowed all those who came to know her feel like family. We now smile, too, as we add Janie’s portrait to The Hall of Eternal Legionnaires.

We LOVE the teaser trailer!!!

On September 6, 2014 at 0830 members of the 501st Legion, MidSouth Garrison and Rebel Legion Corellian Base teamed up for Autism Speaks at Centennial Park in Nashville, Tennessee. This is a walk for Autism awareness that the MSG has participated in for many years. The kids look forward to seeing the star wars characters at every year. The weather was perfect for troops to engage in photo ops with children and their families. There were educational tents throughout the park that with games and other fun things for children. Popcorn and cotton candy were both a huge hit but the biggest hit was Star Wars! It was very special seeing the smiling faces of kids and families. After the walk kicked off, troops lined up at the end to greet walkers with high fives and encouragement as they finished. The troop ended with Erik taking photos in front of the Parthenon. Several troops went to Logan’s for lunch afterwards. It was a wonderful day.
